During these crazy times, I am making some temporary adjustments to my usual service.
This will include social distancing measures during workshop visits and the collection of finished guitars. Measures will comprise of no physical contact eg. shaking hands, two metre distancing and face masks must be worn, unless you have a medical condition that prevents you from doing this. Hand sanitiser must be applied before handling any of my guitars.
It is the visitors responsibility to provide themselves with a facemask and hand sanitiser
This range is available to pre-order. After submitting your order form or discussing your requirements with me, I will send you an email which will contain an attachment PDF. This PDF will be your Build proposal pack and it will outline the specifications of the guitar that you have asked me to make for you, along with pricings and payment schedules. This pack will also advise you of when I can slot your build into my schedule and an estimated timeframe to complete the work. You will have 21 days to accept the proposed guitar build, the build slot, timeframe and my terms and condition, and to settle the deposit amount to secure your build slot in my schedule, after this time a new pricing will have to be drawn up to account for any possible price increases from my suppliers. If you have not accepted after 21 days and you request a new / updated proposal pack, then please be aware that the price may increase and the proposed start date or lead time may be longer than the first quotation and estimation. Once you have accepted this, a minimum deposit for the full cost of materials/woods/hardware associated with your particular guitar build will be required before I can confirm your allocated build slot. By paying this deposit your are securing a slot in my schedule and you are acknowledging your acceptance of my terms and conditions. This deposit is non-refundable after 14 days as it will be used to source hard to get and non-returnable items. This means that after you have paid the deposit, should you change your mind and wish to end our agreement after 14 days from paying the deposit amount I will be unable to refund the deposit amount to you as it will have been spent on the woods and hardware for your guitar build. In this eventuality will retain the hardware and woods purchased as means of compensation to myself, for suddenly having an empty slot and no income for this period. The 14 days relates to your cooling off period. Once you have paid the deposit I will keep hold of the amount for 14 days before purchasing all necessary material/woods/hardware for your guitar build. Should you wish to end our agreement within this 14 day cooling off period, I will refund 75% of the deposit amount that you paid. The remaining 25% will be retained by myself as administration fees to cover lost revenue.
The remaining amount needs to be settled in full (including any shipping / postage and packaging fees) before I can release the build to you. This amount can be paid in full at the end of the build and when the guitar is ready for collection, or you are welcome to settle it in two separate payments, one half of the remaining amount around when I start work on your guitar build and the second half upon completion / collection / shipping.
Breaking the cost down in this manner can have it's advantages to yourself as it breaks the total amount into manageable chunks, which can be particularly useful if you are having me build you a full custom / bespoke guitar that has a higher price tag.
You will have 3 months to settle the full amount that I have quoted. If you have not settled the amount in full after this time you will forfeit any monies that you have paid, as well as the guitar itself. I am sorry if this seems draconian to some people but I have a family to support and I can not afford to be messed around. I would love to offer more time for the final payment but I simply cannot.
After this time, if you have not settled the full amount, I will sell the guitar off at the outstanding amount plus 15% to recover my costs / lost earnings as efficiently as possible. You of course will have the right to buy the guitar at this price, but it will get sold to whomever buys it first.
I hope that I never have to resort to this measure, as it is an absolute last resort course of action.
INVOICES
Upon receipt of any payment I will issue an invoice to you by email only. I will endeavour to do this asap. This invoice is for your records as receipt of payment.
PRICINGS / QUOTATIONS
Please be aware that all my listed pricings are subject to change at any time at my sole discretion. This will be due to external economic factors beyond my control, such as my suppliers or their suppliers raising their prices. It could also be down to changes in the cost of living which will force me to raise my labour rates, or any increases in business running costs. If you have placed a deposit then I will do my very best to honour the original quotation given, but if for example the increase is related to a rise in the cost of sourcing wood and the increase is significant enough cause me financial hardship, then the original quotation will have to be raised. In the (hopefully) very unlikely event of this happening, please understand that you are still bound by the conditions set above with regard to deposits being non refundable once paid.

SO PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE FAMILIARISED YOURSELF WITH THESE CONDITIONS, BUT IF YOU ARE UNSURE ABOUT ANY OF THE TERMS THAT ARE LAID OUT HERE, PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO CONTACT ME, WHERE I WILL ENDEAVOUR TO CLARIFY AND RESOLVE ANY UNCERTAINTIES THAT YOU MAY HAVE.
Do you offer endorsements to bands / artists / professional musicians?
Yes, I do. But there are certain requirements that you will need to meet in order to qualify for an endorsement. On the assumption that you meet these requirements, I will then look at your situation and assess whether or not you qualify for my endorsement.
I feel it important to mention that you do NOT need to be a platinum selling artist or play at stadium venues in front of 300,000 people to qualify for an endorsement. As far as I am concerned a smaller endorsee could still bring benefits in terms of 'getting by brand out there'. My endorsement offer will be tailored to each individual.
Every artist / musician takes a different path during their career. So I will weigh up the potential of what we can offer each other, and hopefully make you an offer that you like.
I'd like this opportunity to state that receiving an endorsement from me does not mean that you will get a guitar for nothing! It will be a contractually obligated agreement that will be fair to us both and will benefit us both in our careers.
Why is my initial 25% deposit non refundable?
Your initial 25% deposit is non refundable because, it is used to source hard-to-get / long wait items of hardware, pickups etc, (which in some cases can actually take up to 12 weeks for delivery!).
This helps to ensure that there are no unnecessary delays to your project once I have began the work on your guitar. I will also source some if not all the timber required for your build. This is so it has the maximum settling time possible before the build is started.
It is for these reasons that it is non refundable.
Why is my secondary payment also non refundable?
For the same reasons as with the first initial 25% deposit. Once the secondary deposit is received it will be used to source the rest of the materials / wood / hardware to complete the build.
Why is the payment process split into three separate payments?
Mostly to make it more manageable for yourself and to keep it fair for us both. By splitting the cost into three over the duration of the build means you have smaller more manageable chunks. For myself it means that I don't get paid for my labour until I have finished the work (which I prefer).
Once I’ve paid my deposit how long do I have to wait until you start building?
Determining the lead times for my builds is quite hard to nail with a great degree of accuracy.
I am currently working on a 6-8 week wait before new commissions are started, so if you were to place a deposit down tomorrow, it would likely be started in about 6 weeks.
How long will my guitar take to make once you have started?
Providing that everything goes smoothly, your guitar will take approximately 3-4 months for a custom build and about 2 months for one from the Origin range. This is from the start of the build until it is completed and ready for collection/shipping. For custom build projects I will keep in regular contact to keep you updated on build progress and to give you the chance to make any amendments to the original plan / specification.
How does your payment schedule work?
Once you have accepted my quote for your build you will then need to put down a 25% deposit, which is non refundable once paid. This will secure you a build slot in my schedule.
Anytime within the 14 days prior to your allocated build slot you will also need to pay a further 25% to get the build to get the build underway. This secondary payment is used to source all of the remaining hardware and materials needed to build your instrument. This secondary payment is also non refundable once paid.
Your final payment of the remaining 50% of the balance is due upon completion of your instrument. Your guitar will not be released to you until after the final payment has been made and received by myself. You will have 21 days to make this final payment.
How are the guitars shipped?
Ultimately, I prefer all guitars to be collected by the client or respective owners in person, but for overseas customers I can respect that this is not practical. Should you need your instrument to be shipped to you it will be securely packaged and shipped via UPS and will be insured. This service is payed for by the customer and will not be included in your instrument quote. It is an additional charge that you will need to be aware of before accepting my quote for your project. I will endeavour to give you a shipping quote that is as reasonable as possible, while offering the best service possible for the timely arrival and safety of your instrument during transit.
How do I make my payments?
The only method of payment I currently accept is a direct bank transfer. Please ensure that I am paid in British Pound Sterling.
Will you accept PayPal?
I don't use PayPal as it is in neither your or my best interests. PayPal issue a 5% fee which in-turn I would have to pass on to you. I provide you with a 24 month guarantee and a 14 day refund policy on online courier delivered items. So there really is no need for their service. Also I purchased something of eBay that turned out to be counterfeit, PayPal would not honour their money back guarantee. This happened not once but twice! So PayPal don't get any business from me.
I am from overseas how do I make an international payment?
All international payments must also be made via bank transfer. They will need to be made in British Pound Sterling and any fees levied by your bank on the transfer are to be covered by the customer. I do not cover transfer fees, exchange rate fees or any other kind of charge that may be placed on the transaction. I will not release instruments until full, cleared payment has been made, so please make sure that you know what your bank charges will be, and that you have enough to cover them when it comes to making your payment.
